I first read this book fifty years ago. It's as good now as it was then.TISATWR is the story of rescuing wildlife from the rising waters behind a new dam. John Walsh takes you along as they gather the animals from trees and surrounded hills. It's a fascinating story and eminently readable.

My husband got this for my 13 year old son to read because he remembered reading it as a kid. My son loved it, and we all enjoyed it.

The book was as described.

A wonderful story about a relatively unknown part of our world. Well told and deserving of the 1-houe special on CBS with Walter Cronkite.

A favorite childhood read and upon re reading I know why!

Read this many decades ago, but just used the title to emphasize a deadline in a business deal. One of those books that will stay with you. (Another is also available on Amazon--Hans Reusch--Top of the World). This is really a heartwarming book from a time when things seemed simpler and more clear cut. It is a form of heroism and clear cut decency that is hard to find these days. A great book for young teens. Glad it is still available.

An entertaining read that reminds me of the style of the Jacques Cousteau books of the same time period. the author makes no pretences to have extensive knowledge of Suriname and writes to what he knows (zoology). He's no armchair anthropologist.I found this refreshing since most books on Suriname only address cultural aspects.If you're planning a first trip to Suriname there are probably better resources of information, but if you are interested in the premise alone, or have been to the big lake at Afobaka this is a great book.

This is my first study by Melissa and I just love it. I read her envy of Eve book, loved it and thought I'd try her new study. I like the size, her approach and everything. The first day is basic observation and each next day uses a different questions method. I feel like this is a really good approach. I found that most days it took 15 minutes. I find myself thinking about the material through out the day. I can't wait for her next study.

Melissa Kruger's latest book, In All Things, traces Paul's conversion narrative in Acts and the subsequent epistle he penned to the young, Philippian church. Through her devotional presentation of relevant scriptures, Kruger recounts how Paul's words and life helped convey the secret to unshakeable joy and peace -- even during some of the toughest times of trial and suffering.Early in the first chapter of In All Things, she shared a wonderful quote from the good doctor, D. Martyn Lloyd Jones: "If ever the world needed the witness and testimony of Christian people it is at this present time. The world is unhappy, it is distracted and frightened, and what it needs is to see stars shining out of the heavens in the midst of the darkness, attracting the world by rebuking that darkness, and by giving it light, showing how it too can live that quality of life."

I bought this book to do a personal study of Philippians. I am familiar with Melissa Kruger, having read her other books, and appreciate her sound doctrine and perspective as a (reformed) Christian wife and mother. This book actually contains all of the Scripture references, so if you are doing the study at work or elsewhere, it's easy to use on its own. There are questions for days 1-4 and a devotional pertaining to the passage on the fifth day of each week. Highly recommend!

This was a really good study to do with my women's group. The questions were not simple rote questions. They really challenged us to think deeper. The ladies would love to do another one. I especially appreciated that it was so thought provoking without the necessity of a Dvd to go with it. It was more affordable than almost any other study. I hope Melissa Kruger writes more Bible based studies.

Our small group has selected this daily study for 9 weeks with group discussions. The 5 days are set up for deeper understanding than just looking and finding an answer. The summary questions for each of the weeks study have led to greater interaction within our group. In the past we have used video Bible studies and we have enjoyed writing in our “In all things” books and underlining text that stood out to us. I have also recommended this study to friends who are looking for a summer Bible study.

We’re just finishing up this studying it’s been very good. I do recommend it for small group study. The biblical text is printed in the book, which at a time of young motherhood, removes a hurdle in completely the study homework. It’s all right there- and easily accessible.The weekly studies provoked good conversation, and I found the content to be enriching and helpful in increasing practical faith.I took off one star because some questions felt rhetorical and not worth answering - and a few small areas of text explanation felt too simplistic. Overall it’s a good study.

This has been an excellent study on Philippians. Draws the student into the Word and gives good commentary. It is very clear and helps the student make personal application.The questions in the back make it easy to discuss in a group. The only caution is the length of each study. The lessons are designed to study over the course of a week and not every one is able to make that commitment (i.e. depends on their life stage/responsibilities).

This was great study not only teaching what the word says, but also what it means. I completed with a small group of women in my living room and it helped us form deeper more meaningful relationships with each other and with God.

I teach high school biology and physical science . My students in general are probably on anywhere between a 4th-to on grade level learning. All of my students do much better with hands on activities so I thought coloring would be great. The book is defiantly for older students however-it helps raise the bar for my students in a less threatening way. With that said let me describe the book:On one page you get a lesson-as you read it it tell you to stop and color a part of the picture and then you continue to read-and then stop and color. That's awesome. Very paced and structured . In addition it's not just biology-it has covers everything from matter to covalent bonds -but covers way more biology. All in all a great buy.

I was under the impression that this would be filled with pages to color to supplement my course materials, as a fun way to study. Instead there is an abundance of pages that resemble a text book rather than actual coloring pages. The image on the front cover is probably the only page I would want, and that image I could have just printed out. I recommend finding printables online..

In our home, we have a high level of curiosity that drives us, so we find creative ways to learn and explore different ideas and subjects. I really like that "The Biology Coloring Book" is so much more than a mere coloring book. It has real information that provides a solid foundation for further study. This isn't heard toward little kids, but is appropriate for middle schoolers on up to high school. Grab your gel pens or colored pencils and order this book. You'll be glad you did!

If you have trouble with biology this will help. I'm in college and got this and it totally helped me pass my biology class. Would really be great for high school students too! Someday if I have kids, they will use this as well. Really worth it.

A lot more text than I expected and the diagrams to be colored were not what I expected. I used the Anatomy Coloring Book in college and it was helpful for me. I bought this for my daughter but do not think it will be as useful to her.

I had to take a Biology Placement (Accuplacer) Test in order to skip classes when I went back to school after a very long hiatus. (A lot of the science classes only have a 5-7 year life span in the academic world.) I had graduated in Zoology back in the day, so I have taken many biology courses. That being said, this book not only provided a very good review, but it also taught me a lot of things in depth that I was only somewhat familiar with. It was a time consuming review of biology, but being a very visual learner, everything stuck much better then it would have just doing practice tests. Oh, and I was able to pass my placement test with flying colors (one that was very much like the final exam of a basic college biology class).

This book was a great supplement to my college biology class. My class is online, so I was using every additional resource I could get my hands on. As a visual learner, this book was invaluable to me.After each section in my textbook, I would complete the pictures in the coloring book. The lesson on the left summarizes the most important concepts and being able to physically color in organelles as I was reading about them made all of the pieces fall together for me.I will definitely be buying the coloring books for other subjects as I continue my education.

I bought this for my daughter who loves to color but is also a bio major in college. This is a fantastic book. Explanations as well as coloring pages. It would be great for a high school, or even middle school science teacher!!
